Kristin Be.me.l-mans was born on May 12, 1974. An energetic and playful girl who loved to do mischief. The grass was her playground, the animals her best friends, and when she wasn't spending time in nature, she'd bring out her pencils, watercolors, wasco's and markers to satisfy her urge for creativity. She was overflowing with imagination! The choice to go to the Art Academy at the age of 6 was quickly made.
The painting techniques were refined during various artistic courses, but she finally found her own technique that suits her best. Painting on the back of plexiglass, i.e. in mirror script and unedited. Letting go of control completely is part of her painting process.
Painting in confidence, just as she lives....
Painting has become a true passion over the years. Working with bright colors is an urge that is unstoppable. The world is often black and white enough.
The driving force behind her artwork is a spiritual quest. Freedom, being oneself, admitting color, authenticity and standing in her power are very important values to Kristin.
Her paintings belong to intuitive abstract expressionism. Intuitive, because she usually starts without a plan. Abstract, because she wants to make people think and put things into perspective. Expressive, because she wants to tell her story, because she wants to inspire. She tries to tell with color what she cannot achieve with language.
