Ceramics or ceramic art statues & sculptures are made entirely by hand from 'clay sausages'. These pieces of clay are then molded into the intended shapes that serve as the basis for the final art image. After the rough shapes, the characteristic details are added to the clay by using chips that provide a smooth structure. Ceramic sculptures must maintain equal proportions in terms of size and thickness to ensure that the firing process is successful.
The art images must then dry. After this, the ceramic statues are provided with a glaze layer and then fired in the kiln at a temperature of up to 1200 degrees Celsius. After this, the ceramic art sculpture is ready to be admired.
Jeannie was born in the Limburg village of Stramproy in 1951. As a self-taught artist, she started her career as an artist more than thirty years ago. She finds inspiration in the power of the full female figure. She often uses a comic accent in her sculptures. If she can bring a smile to the viewer, Jeannie will consider her job a success.
